Again, it's Monday, they just keep coming around!

Time for a laugh,

More bad news from the Banks, money is tight now

Uncertainty has now hit Japan. In the last seven days, Origami bank has folded,

Sumo Bank has gone belly up and Bonsai Bank has announced plans to cut some of its branches.

Yesterday, it was also announced that Karaoke Bank will go up for sale and will likely go for a song, while shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended today after they nose-dived.

While Samurai Bank is soldiering on after sharp cutbacks, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank, where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal.

My Pilgrimage to Airsoft Outlet Northwest ( Sadly, it looks like they are gone now , 2017)

Any business that has a shop dog is A1 in my book, wish I had caught his name!
(Going to leave this post up, but they closed their door in 2017)

I was in the Portland OR area for the first time in my 49 years on this earth for a job interview
( keep you fingers crossed for me).
I had an afternoon to kill, let's see, I could go see Mt Hood, any of at least 6 knife companies or go to the Columbia factory outlet?
Hell no, I was going to see the shop that has been in the airsoft news so much these past weeks,
Airsoft Outlet NW.

I must admit that I had some trepidation for making the drive. I have visited six "major" airsoft shops in the US, only one of them had met what I like to call my "standards".
After fighting my GPS ( I did not update my maps for the left coast) and navigating some one way streets
( the wrong way) I pulled into the home of AONW and Martin Glass.

I was greeted with a hearty hello from the man behind the counter, that is always a good sign. I explained that I could not buy anything as I was flying light, but that did not seem to reduce the customer service one iota.

I saw a well lighted, very well organized store that puts 90% of the real steel gun shops in the US to shame.

A huge amount of stock graced the walls and shelves, no dust and clean glass counters
( well they were, until I drooled on the KWA CZ75 I was coveting ).

A wall of rifles ran down the left side
Again, nicely lit and tagged.

KWA handgun inventory was top notch

Along with WE and SOCOM

Great shopping area for Condor gear, plenty to chose from.

BDU's, helmets, pads, you could outfit a small Marine brigade  from this back section of the store.

And, Can you say parts?

I spent over an hour talking about airsoft, I also watched how customers were treated when they came in. That is a big thing in my book, customer service.
I watched a lady that who I think had no clue what she wanted come in to buy a gift, she was helped promptly and shown some options and left with a Mollie vest in a bag and a smile.
I could go on and on about how impressed I was with this store, but I don't want to sound like a shill,
go and see for yourself , it is will worth a trip if you are anywhere close by.

In conclusion, Well stocked, clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff
( without the "your an old man, what do you care or know about airsoft"
attitude that I have found at other stores)

Airsoft Outlet Northwest gets the first 100% Award from
No Airsoft for Old Men.
( I know, it's does not mean spit, but come on, makes me feel good)

Go see them, if they are too far away, visit their website at
(dead link)
I hope to be back at the store many times,
(again Fingers crossed y'all),
but if I don't get the job, I will still make the trek to the store if I am anywhere within 200 or so miles!
It's that good.

Store address is
1900 Baseline St, Cornelius Oregon, 97113

If your not up to speed on the Fight these people are going through for our airsoft rights,
please read this article and support Airsoft Outlet NW any way you can.

Quick trip

New director of TSA unveils the updated "passenger restraint" system for all domestic flights
Only adds a $148.96 charge to your ticket

Just got back after a 12 hour day flying in from the left coast.
My whirlwind trip was a quick visit  to the incredibleness that is Airsoft outlet NW.
Great store, super guys and from what I saw, 120%  above and beyond customer service.
Also got to see the new NIKE tactical boots, pretty sweet.
I will post up pics and a review this weekend, now my old butt is off to bed
I am an old, fat man and I do not fit well into airplane seats, of course you have to be an anorexia 12 year old to fit in those seats now days.

NJ Bill to classify Airsoft as a firearm

http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2010/Bills/S0500/454_I1.HTM
Thanks Homer, from the NC Airsoft forums for the link

Airsoft guns are already restricted in NJ, we have done training evolutions with a navy unit up there in the past and it is always a nightmare traveling up with the training guns and gear.
If you read the bill, it is a clarification, most areas up there already treat them as firearms,
What I take umbrage to is the fact that they are making a law that makes something that's not a "firearm" into a firearm
An airgun is a airgun, as long as it uses air for propulsion. To me it is like making a law about dogs, then adding cats to the law and calling them dogs because they have four legs and a tail.
Read further and you will find the definition of a machine gun, so full auto airsoft would now be a machine gun with all the legal fines and restrictions?
This is the definition of the "slippery slope"
Will it pass, more than likely, NJ is another world, much like most places on the left coast.

Update from TJ on the NJ airsoft forums,
This seems to be one of those bills that pop up every year at most state and federal level house's on real steel firearms, some legislatures idea of what needs to be addressed and by GOD he is going to address it.

11/08/2007 as bill S2852, Introduced in the Senate, Referred to Senate Law and Public Safety and Veterans' Affairs Committee

01/08/2008 as bill S715, Introduced in the Senate, Referred to Senate Law and Public Safety and Veterans' Affairs Committee

01/12/2010 as bill S454, Introduced in the Senate, Referred to Senate Law and Public Safety Committee

BUT, just because it did not make it out of committee in 2008, it now sits like a vulture on a tree limb, waiting until it can be put through.
Let's hope the Idiot that keeps bringing this up loses the next election and this just languishes in committee like it did in 07 and 08.
We need to be vigilant and watch to see where this goes, not have it just pop up like the Arkansas law banning the sale of imitation firearms did.
( I am heading to Arkansas sometime next month to get the real low down on what the law truly says, my attorney and I read it one way, but it seems like all the 14 year old "lawyers" on the web read it another.)

Please don't read this post as fear mongering, I have been involved in the process of fighting for our firearms rights in the US for a lot of years, have testified for committees and sat down with the lawyers suing the gun industry in the past. I know how easy it is to lose your ability to own something you like overnight or watch hundreds of people lose their jobs over lawsuits and bs.

Monday funny's, just because it's monday and we all need a laugh

Dear Sir,
I am writing in response to your request for additional information in Block 3 of the accident report form. I put “poor planning” as the cause of my accident. You asked for a fuller explanation and I trust the following details will be sufficient.
I am a bricklayer by trade. On the day of the accident, I was working alone on the roof of a new six-story building. When I completed my work, I found that I had some bricks left over which, when weighed later were found to be slightly in excess of 500lbs.
Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley, which was attached to the side of the building on the sixth floor.
Securing the rope at ground I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went down and untied the rope, holding it tightly to ensure a slow descent of the bricks.
You will note in Block 11 of the accident report form that I weigh 135lbs.
Due to my surprise at being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at a rapid rate up the side of the building.
In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel, which was now proceeding downward at an equally impressive speed. This explained the fractured skull, minor abrasions and the broken collar bone, as listed in section 3 of the accident report form.
Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep into the pulley.
Fortunately by this time I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly to the rope, in spite of beginning to experience pain.
At approximately the same time, however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground and the bottom fell out of the barrel.
Now devoid of the weight of the bricks, that barrel weighed approximately 50 lbs. I refer you again to my weight. As you can imagine, I began a rapid descent, down the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles, broken tooth and several lacerations of my legs and lower body.
Here my luck began to change slightly. The encounter with the barrel seemed to slow me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell into the pile of bricks and fortunately only three vertebrae were cracked.
I am sorry to report, however,as I lay there on the pile of bricks, in pain, unable to move, I again lost my composure and presence of mind and let go of the rope and I lay there watching the empty barrel begin its journey back down onto me. This explains the two broken legs.
I hope this answers your inquiry.
Kevin R,
Bricklayer. [Fritha]

Bruce (The king of all men) is cool

Another that I really like,

A cowboy walks into a bar and orders a whiskey. As the barman’s pouring it the cowboy looks about him. ‘Where is everybody?’ he says. ‘Gone to the hanging,’ says the barman. ‘Hanging?’ says the cowboy.’Who they hanging?’
‘Brownpaper Pete,’ replies the barman.
‘Brownpaper Pete? Why do they call him that?’
‘Well,’ says the barman. ‘His hat’s made of brown paper, his shirt’s made of brown paper, his jacket’s made of brown paper and his trousers are made of brown paper.’ ‘Really?’ says the cowboy. ‘What they hanging him for?’
‘Rustling.’ [thebrokedown]

Security for airsoft and other things in life

We all can't have a super hero hanging around the house, so we need to watch out for ourselves.

I have been perusing the internet the past few days, reading lots of forums for real steel guns and have noticed some things I wanted to talk about.

It seems like we all (airsoft and RS) love to show off our collections online.
Over the last couple days I have viewed some incredible collections of Firearms, High end collectible knives and airsoft guns. They are all on open forums, hooked to a screen name.
That screen name nine times out of ten has a profile connected to it with the hometown of the poster.
Sometimes even the persons real name is also available.
Now lets say you post up a collection of Vrosapale pistols, you are very proud that you have scoured the world to find all models of this unique piece.
A few weeks later you post that you are on your way to the Vrosapale collectors convention half way across the county and you will be off the forums for 5 days. You revel in your Twitter updates about you most recent find at the show, or what a jerk that last guy you dealt with was.
What have you just done?
Have you just told someone that you have valuable items and you will be gone from .to.?
What do you think?

I know you have a gun safe, but don't you think in two days time someone can't get into it, most of the time using tools from your own shop?
What about the other things showing in the pictures, computer systems, flat screens and all the cool movie collectibles in your "man room"?
Do you think bad people don't read Glocktalk, AR15.com or ASR?

I bring this up because years (way too many) ago I was doing the gun show circuit in FL, 51 weekends a year, driving from one end of the state to another, setting up on on Fri, break down and home Sun night.
We had a time when a small group would come to the show on sun, tag a dealer that had a nice display then wait around till close down and loadout and follow him home. Sometimes they hit as soon as the dealer  got home or to his shop, sometimes waiting till the next day if it was a collector who worked during the week.
One dealer got killed and a few got hurt and they didn't stop until they screwed up and  got caught.

Now it's 2010, we have Google maps, Google name search, find anyone for 8 dollars and tons of other neat ways to locate an address.
Am I too paranoid? (can you be today?)
I learned to keep every thing collectible or rare at an off-site storage location. That and insurance keeps it away from my self and loved ones
.
It does suck that we can no longer have the "Trophy" rooms of yesteryear.
(even if you never have posted a picture, how about the bug guy, meter reader, the guy who trims your trees.
Do you think they might have looked in the window and passed on how cool your cave was?)

From AOL article,
Some insurance companies are catching on. Legal & General Insurance in New England says Facebook and Twitter users could be hit with higher homeowner's insurance premiums. Why? All that blabbing about activities away from home means they face a higher risk of burglary.

The company thinks burglars are actually "shopping" for victims on social media sites, looking not only for an indication you're not at home, but also photos of your home and valuables. That cute picture of your son hugging the dog? A burglar is looking in the background, eyeing your big-screen TV and new stereo system.

And it's not just adults. Teenagers are even more likely to post personal information, so Legal & General has warned that parents who aren't even online themselves could face higher homeowner's insurance premiums if their children are online.

So, a month after I post, others catch on, welcome to the party, Pal

Even though I have a overlapping video system with my next door neighbors, a alarm system, Two big dogs and a neighbor on one side who's a Reserve police officer and has a home office where he works that overlooks my house and on the other side is a just retired Navy DEVGRP 20 year man who has nothing better to do than sit on his back porch and shoot guns most of the day (and night, for the past damn week!) I still want to keep the good stuff locked up.
I hate that when I want to review a gun or get ready to go to a gun match or a airsoft game that I have to lay in another 40 mins to go by and pick up what I need, but I would hate to have a shootout at my house or even worse  to come home and find what I had worked 40 years for ransacked and off at some pawn shop.
My stuff is pretty safe and yes, I have gone overboard but it gives me piece of mind that I have done all I can, if I get hit now, that's what insurance is for.

Just some random thoughts that came into my head and I wanted to share them, and because I am old and it's my Blog, I did, Nah nah neey po po

I am losing it
Please share your thoughts on this in the comments, I think I got them fixed.
Review soon, I know you heard that before, but this time my fingers are not crossed.
Till then, Check 6

Another non airsoft but cool site

Very neat tank graveyard in Kabul
to catch the scope of it,look at google maps
More pic's here
This would be a killer set for a zombie movie, or a hell of an airsoft game.
Too bad about the fact there is a war going on there and all!
Seems like all the best places to play have some problem or another.

This post is not meant to disparage our brave men and women fighting in that god awful county,
The previous comments were meant in fun. I am a proud supporter of Wounded Warriors and Project Homefront.
