The man who wishes he had a golden gun

Click on the pic to make it full size, the you can see the AR180

Just had to share this picture, I really could care less about the AK/M4/AR180
But I would almost sell my soul for that S&W Gold and Silver M76 just laying on that table.
I know it's a sin to covet, but come on, it's a S&W 76
I know this isn't airsoft related, but I am just a huge 76 fanboy.
I need to buy a MGC 76 and stuff a sten gun gear box in it, hummmm I wonder if that would work!

AAR for the EXPO

Never mix up your airsoft gear with your work uniform,
it confuses people.

The 1st ever North Atlantic Airsoft Expo is now almost a week gone into history.
Everyone seemed to have a great time.
I do not have the definitive attendance numbers, but it should have been in the 5-600 range.
The vendors I spoke with were all well pleased and are planning to be there next year.

Your help in getting them back is easy.
Send an e-mail thanking the one's that were there and email the guys you want to see next year.
It is VERY rare as a vendor that you get a thank you, just a few that can be taken to the boss will go a long way in showing that it is cost effective for the vendors to be there.

Check out Thumpys blog for some great vid's he is posting up from the show
Now I have to start on some reviews, I am old and lazy and this means I gotta work, I wish my daughter lived closer, I need some one to rake the yard and shoot guns for me.
Isn't that what you have kids for?
Alright, I got to go and yell at the neighbor kids for playing their rock and roll music too loud!
Stay tuned for the reviews.

Hand signals, modified for airsoft use.

This gear is heavy, my lower back could use a massage
I’m having a hard time seeing very far without my glasses.
( I use this one a lot)
Aim for the ass
I have a gun malfunction (repeat gesture for “…again!” to indicate frustration)

Remain in front of me where it is safe
I brought the wrong ammo again
My (fogged-up) goggles need a wipe
He’ll be out in a minute

I did steal these from Unconventional Airsoft, he is the funny one, I just wanted to share with the few who read this.

Some more pic's from the show.

I am assembling my thoughts for the shows after action report.
While I do that,
Enjoy some more pictures I took at the expo

When they said they had a bus to take people to Sundays game,
I know most thought it was a airport shuttle at best.
Big surprise when this baby pulled up.

DVD screens, bathroom and that very cool retro 70's disco camo seat covers.

Back to the Expo.

Wallace of Z-Shot won the No Airsoft for Old Men award for the best vendor
who's booth was next to mine.
Congratulations.
Now I am going back to relaxing, reading a Travis McGee novel and listening to some Human League.
Until tomorrow, STAY OFF MY LAWN, darn kid's

NAAExpo day three

The show is over and I am beat!
Hours and hours of standing on carpeted concrete floors takes it's toll on an old mans legs and back.

The show today was slower, with a lot of people at the game , but we were still seeing new people all day.
The CA 249 was given away along with a AEG and a high end GBB.
It was fun to see some youngsters wining the "battle buddy's" pistols today.
The Strafer demo I put on had people running from the lobby to see what was being shot

No pic's tonight as I am typing while asleep.

After action report tomorrow.
One last big huge thank you to Halo and Too Long and all the staff for a fantastic show.
And another thank you to the 500 or so customers that came by the booth, you were great too.
See yall after I sleep for a day or so!

NAAExpo Day Two!

Alright, it's 11:00 pm and I am just getting home, what a day.
Great attendance and lots of great people today.
The costume contest had a large turnout, with some super loadouts.
Just left the vendor banquet, we had a wonderful southern style meal, drinks and a very funny comedian that the expo provided for entertainment.
Let me tell you, from a old ,jaded, been to a thousand shows in my life standpoint,
THIS SHOW WAS Awesome for the attendees and the vendors.
It might have been small, and not a lot of vendors, but they treated us right.
I was at the front door and asked a guy what he thought of the show.
He pulled out 3200.00 (in Cash) from his pocket and told me he just cashed his tax check and wanted to spend it all on airsoft, knives and gear, there just wasn't enough to buy! I WAS FLOORED.
If you miss this one next year, you will miss a lot.
Some pic's then I need to rack, too long a day for an old man.

Blackstone airsoft out of VA
Super great guys, if your any where near this field, you have got to play here.

This is how the aisles look 90% of the day, Jammed packed.
They had X boxes set up so if you wanted a break, you could sit and play.
82ed and Fluke (as always) took it to the extreme! Geared up and ready to go

More shots of the crowd, this was about 2 or so in the afternoon.

Extreme Airsoft brought their beautiful extreme ladies, and a huge snake, this was as close as I would get for the picture, sorry. Their booth was packed all day.

Only in High Point NC will you find
Star Trek hookers, beam me up!

Some of the load-out contest participants.

From the vendors banquet, in the wonderful High Point Theater.

Best dressed Future airsofter award goes to,,,,,,,

Henry Hutton
2 months old and already in camo!
Drew, my man, you did good.

Off to bed now, I am crossed eyed and knee walking tired.
More tomorrow from the day 3.

Day 1 NAAExpo

They day started out great and got better as it went on
Big Boy Toys, is the 1st thing you see when you walk in the door, I think Jack did well today as I saw people throughout the day walking around with their new guns. He brought a great selection of everything from Guns to gear.

On Target airsoft was set up across from me and had a good flow of traffic thru the day.
Project Homefront was also here, what great work these guys do. They are running a raffle that has different Prizes all day and on Sunday will give away a GBB and a AEG, I have my fingers crossed that I have the winning ticket.

TF 16 has a booth for their team, lots of staff and even flashing disco lights.
Good job.
Z Shot is here with a sample of the new ARES lineup
They are now the ARES National Distributor

The New PPsh41
not my cup of tea but felt well built, good heft and exterior quality was top notch.

More Ares guns, you need more info, just ask.

Systema was also showing their High end rifles.
As everyone knows, these are the pinnacle of M4's

The day went well, I talked with people from New York, Va, Tampa FL, NJ, GA and Tenn. It was not a big crowd today but a nice steady flow.
There were seminars, giveaways and a quick draw contest.
( I didn't win, so they must have had it rigged, LOL)
Tomorrow will be busy with lots going on, so I am off to slumber, as I am old.
More to come tomorrow.

The North Atlantic Airsoft Expo 2010 Setup Day

Well the day has arrived for the 1st ever NAAE
Set up was today, about half the vendors chose to set up now, the rest tomorrow morning.
I like to be the 1st in and the last out, but Fed-X conspired against me and made me a little late.
That being said, except for no way to attach the back wall, all went well.
Look forward to a great day tomorrow, even though the show runs 10-8pm!
Got to love retail shows.
More tomorrow night

ESS goggles, damn that is a good looking booth

Pantac Gear

A Random tank that just wandered in.

Tactical Duostocks display
It will look better tomorrow with the guns on the table.

Lobby of the Showplace.
If you are looking for a venue for any type show, this is the place.
Large, Clean, great facilitates and a wonderful, helpful staff.
I have never been in a nicer venue.
As you might know from my other blog, I bitch and moan a lot about shows, for the 1st time,
I am speechless.
It's that good.

See you tomorrow.

Stuff I found at SHOT show.

Texas sunset, it might be burning toxic waste in the sky, but it sure were purrty

Made by a company called TUFF Products out of Chula Vista CA.
It is 100% American made out of 1000 denier cordura.
Built to hold 8, that's right, 8 single stack mags.
It's made for the real steel market, but because I am a severe gear whore I had to have one for airsoft.
The top flap is removable. I like that feature so that you can use it with the flap in the field and then take it off for faster access if you go into a CQB environment.
Mags fit tight, but they come out quickly with a slight tug.
On the back you will find both Mollie straps and also belt straps if you are going with a light load out.
All the edges are bound, you find this on the best made nylon gear.
The stitching is very well done, not like most of the China gear you see around.
Not much else to say, It is well made, it's the only pouch I have found that holds 8 mags and its made in the US of A
Price is 49.00 on the Tuff Products website, for a made in the US product that's a fair price.

They also make a 5 mag pouch for you newfangled double stack folks.
If you like good gear, this is it.
Go visit them at www.tuffproducts.com
Tell them No Airsoft for Old Men sent ya. If you can remember, I can't, what was I saying?
Now I need to buy more mags to fill it up, Like I need a reason to buy more stuff!
You can never be too rich, to good looking or have enough mags, I will never get the first two covered, so I might as well get the last one.

I will post some other odds and ends I picked up at the show, I did not get much this year, stuck in the darn booth working, I tell you, there is no respect for old guys anymore.

Some more pic's from the SHOT show

No matter how much I bitch, the show was a blast

Just wanted to add some more pic's from the show.
Nothing great, there are a lot of other sites with better ones, but hey, it's my damn blog!
Had to update the "Tim,,, the Enchanter" look
Brought it into a more Tactical mode.
Yes, those are Dall sheep horns
Crossbow glasses supplied by ESS, the preferred goggles and eye pro of No Airsoft for old men.
Thanks to Jerry for all is inventive fab work and Sam for driving to the nether region of TX to pick up the horns, next time I will remind him to fill up the truck with gas though

The PP RGS 2, yes I know I look like a famous movie star in his seminal role, get over it.
GET TO THE CHOPPER

Now that I look at the pic again, I think I might have been on painkillers, that's a stupid grin on my face

The Booth crew, Jerry, our resident Rocket Scientist and designated booth babe, The old man and a random Thai feller that was walking by.

We were smiling, I think this was before the show started.
That's all for now, need to make a sandwich and take a nap after this hard work posting.

Stay off my lawn, you wippersnappers
